Winter Tree Identification

Enjoy a hike at The Boulders while getting to know some of the more common trees in the New England landscape. Identifying trees in the winter can be tough, but we will learn easy techniques for you to practice on your own and interesting natural history facts that you won’t forget.

Trail: Moderate (some elevation change), 2.8 miles round-trip

What to Bring: Please bring water, wear sturdy footwear, and wear layers. Consider snowshoes or microspikes depending on the weather. BNRC has a few pairs of both to loan if needed.

Location: The Boulders, Dalton Ave Trailhead, Pittsfield, MA

Enter directly across from the intersection with Hubbard Avenue.

Language: This hike will be led in English.
