Many animals remain active all winter long, and we can look for signs they leave behind in the landscape. This program will introduce you to some basic track and trail patterns you can find in snowy or muddy conditions and allow you to apply them along the trail while hiking.
Difficulty: Easy/Moderate (easy pace, off-trail walking with elevation changes and unstable footing)
What to Bring: Please bring water, wear sturdy footwear, and wear layers. Consider snowshoes or microspikes depending on the weather. BNRC has a few pairs of both to loan if needed.
Location: CHP Great Barrington Health Center
As you enter the complex, turn left towards CHP buildings. Continue to the end of the parking area where you’ll see the informational kiosk and hiking trailhead. Park in a designated space.
Hike Leader: Charlotte
Language: This hike will be led in English.
